Production process

1. Design concept and design drawing

  • Brainstorming: The process started with ideas for the sweatshirt design. We considered current fashion trends, target audience preferences, and unique elements that would make the sweatshirt stand out.
  • Drawing the design: After considering all the factors and processing the new information, I moved to the notebook and drew what I had in my head until we made adjustments to the final design.

2. Material selection

  • Fabric selection: This process looks simple but was the second longest process in production. High-quality materials were chosen, such as organic cotton or a cotton-polyester blend. The fabric should be durable, soft and comfortable. We contacted several Slovak and Czech fabric manufacturers to send us samples according to our criteria. We then selected the one that seemed most suitable to us.

3. Pattern Making and Sewing

This process took the longest, also because of our attention to detail.

  • Pattern Making: I showed my design and consulted with the seamstress, who then created the first version of the sweatshirt. It took a year and about 5 designs before we got a pattern we were happy with.
  • Size adjustment: The cuts were charted to fit different sizes to suit different body types. Since our fitting is oversized, it wasn't that difficult.
    • Sewing sweatshirts: All sweatshirts were hand-sewn by one seamstress with high precision.
    • Reinforcements: Normally, only the areas that are more stressed are reinforced with additional stitching to increase their durability. However, we decided to reinforce all the joints. We want our sweatshirts to be as durable as possible, unlike "fast-fashion" and other "brands" from China.

4. Print DESIGN

  • Printing: We have chosen the highest quality printing technique, screen printing. Screen printing involves pushing ink through the permeable areas of a stencil (mesh). These permeable areas, which represent the motif or pattern of the print, are created on the screen using a photosensitive emulsion that hardens when exposed to light. (The image is illustrative)

5. Quality Control AND PACKAGING

  • Check: Each sweatshirt has undergone thorough inspection to identify and correct any errors in stitching, printing, or fabric.
  • Labeling: The sweatshirt was labeled with a size label, care instructions, and manufacturing and fabric information.
  • Packaging: Finally, the sweatshirt was wrapped in eco-friendly packaging and ready to be shipped to you.
